This Skyscape Series is based on the original title tracks by the group WayV. I tried to capture the atmosphere of their songs and figure out how to translate that vibe into an illustration. This is how I imagine the sky to look like when I listen to their songs.
This one is based on the song "Kick Back" from their mini-album "Kick Back." The feeling I get from the song is the kind of winding down you get after a full adventure. It's about the energy you have when you want to just kick back and have fun. That's why I chose to depict a sunset in warm, energetic colours. There's a sense of something closing, but it still has that kinetic energy that signifies that it's not the end.
I created multiple versions: one featuring the title in English, the title in Chinese, and important lyrics.
