Weston Hospicecare provide specialist nursing care, practical advice and support and a friendly listening ear to local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. They help their loved ones to care for them in a place of their choice be that there with them at the Hospice, or in their own home, nursing or residential home.
 
Each year Weston Hospicecare needs to raise a staggering £3 million! One of the ways in which the charity raise money is with 'Challenge Weston Hospicecare' so If you’d like to take up the challenge of a lifetime, experience something you’ll never forget and raise money for your local Hospice then look no further than Challenge Hospice!
 
Whether you want to jump out of a plane, run a marathon, cycle from London to Paris or trek in Transylvania there is something for you and Challenge Hospice is here to help you achieve it.
 
The brief given to me was to design a set of 4 Challenge based logos for the fundraising scheme. They had to be earthy, bright, colourful and eyecatching. They also had to be able to work as their own seperate icons and represent a completly different style to the corporate collateral they have been producing to date.
 
TREK
 
I chose to use brown to represent the earth and the red to brighten it up and compliment the brown.

RUN
CYCLE
For the CYCLE logo I decided to use bicycle tyre tracks going through a spash of mud. As I had already used brown and the brief was to use a range of eyecatching colours I decided to take a more electric approach to this one and use a cyan splash with purple text. This was to make it stand out from the other logos as something that is not on foot but infact moving at a much faster pace.
EXTREME
Fineally I came to the EXTREME logo I felt I had to do somthing that highlighted the danger and adrenalin that comes with taking out extreme sports like skydiving. I decided to concentrate on the X as out of the word extreme X is the most fierce looking and also because extreme is often abriviated to Xtreme. It also gave me the chance to seperate it from the other logos so that it splits the word up but still keeps within the same style. I chose to use a vibrant yellow on a rich black to make it look sporty and daring.
LEAFLETS & BANNERS
We then also went onto design leaflets and large pull up banners to advertise and encourage people to take part in the events and help raise money for the cause. The colors and earthy/distorted styles were based on the way we designed the logos; Virbrant, earthy, sporty and impactful.
