Teach your hands how to look for breast cancer
NEW ZEALAND BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION

98% of NZ women don’t know the 9 symptoms of breast cancer, leaving them vulnerable. So we created Pre Check: a multi-sensory training tool that reproduces the feelings of early stage breast cancer through your phone screen.

Pre Check uses haptic technology to create unique vibration sequences that, when combined with audio and visual cues, teaches your hands how to look for breast cancer. The interface was designed as a self-check simulation, allowing women to simply feel around their phone screen looking for abnormalities - just as they would their own breast.
Through one-to-one engagement, we showed women what to look for and then, through personalised reminders and notifications, ensured self-checks became potentially life-saving routines.
