As a costarican, coffee is part of my life even though not as a consumer. Back at my house in San Isidro de Heredia, my dad decided to start selling the coffee that gets collected. Yes, we own a tiny plantation. First dad started producing it seriously but just using it as a gift for our close friends. Suddenly, it was way to much. Now he asks me every day to help him with a logo, this way he will be able to start selling it. So finally I did, but I should say, dads are certainly the toughest clients.
The logo is inspired on the typical costarican cart: la carreta.
The name, Zurquí is a beautiful forest and national park, located practically behind our property.

Carreta típica costarricense

Used to transport coffee during the 19th century, pulled by oxen through the curvy and rough costarican slopes. When cars appeared in the picture, these carts became decoration and the artesans started to create these extraordinary patterns that helped the carreta become one of the 10 symbols that represent the country.
