For this assignment, we had to choose between four articles. I quickly chose the one related to nature sounds being very good against stress. (The article is in dutch.) 

For the look of the drawing, I wanted to give a bit of a watercolor feel to vibe with the nature feel. Like something straight out of a watercolor book, a bit playful.

I wanted to freshen up my mind by thinking of what came to mind when I thought about nature. I used a method given by my teachers.

Some first ideas I came up with. I thought about what nature meant to me. Or what I do to relax, which is listen to nature ASMR, actually! I love thunder and rain sounds in particular. I also thought about connecting animals and humans together through music. but I chose the "animals making music" prompt in the end for a bit of a challenge.

First I gave the animals high tech instruments. I did not like that idea and instead gave them microphones made out of sticks and leaves (as seen in the final illustration) that gave them a bit more personality.

Final thoughts: 

I've never really sat down and studied animals before, as I prefer to draw characters. But I think this was a good lesson for me to draw something else for once. I quite like the end result!
