APOLLO 18
“Apollo 17 was the last mission in NASA's Apollo program and the last mission in which humans traveled and walked on the Moon. However, in 1976 the secret Apollo 18 mission began in which a single astronaut traveled to the moon to investigate a strange structure. Unfortunately, contact was lost after landing and nothing was heard from the Apollo 18 mission until now, when some original negatives were recovered ”.
This series of portraits of a castaway astronaut abandoned on the moon and rescued by extraterrestrials was on my mind from long time.
I shoot the astronaut on set, with the images i wanted to create on mind, and the idea to build a moon stage on 3D, but i found the Project Apollo Archive on flickr, with thousands of high resolution original images from the apollo missions and finally i made all of the final key visuals with that original scanned files.
A dream come true!
