We were provided with a script by the agency. Based on that, I created the storyboard.

Adding a scratch voiceover to it, we created the animatic for the film.

Once the animatic was approved, the focus moved to the character design.

The new character was to be based on a pre-designed figure that featured on the product packaging, but was requested to be made more sport-y for this ad film.

There was a bit of back and forth before we settled on a final design.

Next, the live-action bits were shot, and I received the following edit to help guide the animation production.

I went ahead to create this rough animation pass.

Once approved, I tied down the animation with clearer, more detailed drawings.

Once I received the 'go ahead' from the client, I moved on to clean-up and colour, followed by compositing the animation into the live action footage.

This was my first project ever where I was responsible for all stages in the animation pipeline. It was also my first time attending Pre-Production Meetings with all parties involved, and was my first step toward learning soft skills required to maintain clear communication and through that, a lean pipeline.
