TERAZZO BATHROOM
Terrazzo is essentially acomposite material, used for floor and wall decoration, It consists of chips of marble, quartz, granite, glass, or other suitable material, poured with a cementitious binder (for chemical binding), polymeric (for physical binding), or a combination of both. The uniform texture surface is the result of different steps of curation and polishing smooth.
Terrazzo originates from Italy, emerged specifically on the 18th century as "pavimento alla Veneziana" (Venetian pavement) where workers placed marble fragments next to each other in a mortar base. So basically is all about pieces of stone that are bonded to a cement bed. It is considered a sustainable flooring material as when first introduced, it was a way of using stone off cuts so nothing would go to waste.
I chose to work with this beautiful material matching it with a color palette based on smooth tones of green and cream beige to deliver a calm and subtle feeling to the interior of this bathroom.

The presence of the wood panels accentuates the general natural aspect as it fits well with the soft glassy green ceramic pieces (30 * 7 * 1 cm) to decorate the limited spot of the wall where I preferred to put double wash basins and mirrors with circle shapes that inspires freedom and minimalism.
