NCN Course Prospectus Re-design

Below is the original new college nottingham prospectus design, as you can see the design is visually noisy and is not very appealing to the eye considering it is a professional piece, for this project i will be re-designing the course prospectus shown below to a standard which i consider to be professional.
This is a project i have been working on at University, for this project the aim was to re-design the new college nottingham course prospectus. The idea was to break away from the green and black branding the company had already given themselves.
Above is the first design i came up with towards re-designing the course prospectus, after spending time looking at the strengths and weaknesses, i found that the overlapping text looked cheap and very amateur, which is then where i decided to change the text to solid block colour. This allowed the text within the design to stand out against the negative space and by adding small elements of colour, the design automatically becomes more appealing.
After creating my first initial designs, i then decided to take my design a step further and try something new and abstract. When looking at my original designs, i felt that the original design was too simple and lacked creativity. By sticking to one main colour throughout, i was enable to in-corporate the visual splash of colour within the background of the piece, i felt that this added depth to the design and led it away from the boring conventional design i had first produced.
After looking at my original design, i decided that it was too minimilistic and came to the conclusion that i needed to add more colour to make my design unique. i created a colour splash using adobe illustrator then used it as a background on my original design.
