Dark A journey through time
is my final project for my Specialization Degree in Editorial Design.
Based on the Netflix audiovisual work, created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, the aim of this project was to transform the audiovisual product into an object book, thus enriching the reading experience and generating more interactivity than a traditional book. The book has 10 chapters, based on the episodes from the first season of the show, and we can find several puzzles while reading, such as glued feathers, hidden messages that we can only read with a UV flashlight, images and items inside envelopes.
In addition to the interactions and enigmas, during the show, we are presented with three periods: 1953, 1986 and 2019. To represent the change between each one and for the reader to understand, a specific typography was chosen for each year, which refers to each era. So when the year changes suddenly, the type changes too.
