Purpose
This video was a three-minute animation that played at our office’s division All Hands meeting as an opportunity to recognize the division’s hard work and achievement in making it to the end of fiscal year. With COVID and remote work status, 2020 was particularly challenging and taxing on all staff, so we put this video together in an effort to uplift and boost morale. It was a division-wide project that incorporated written messages and direct quotations from staff on all division teams (who answered the question: "What inspires you about our division’s work?"). Staff responded by describing the culture of our division in their own words.
Process
From script and storyboard development, to post-production editing, USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives’s Communications team completed this project in-house. The illustrations in the animation were made using Adobe Photoshop, and the video and accompanying audio tracks were laid out in Premiere Pro. Video Scribe was also used, but in a secondary capacity, for formatting the animations.
