for Direct-To Garment (DTG) t-shirt printing.
This traditional watercolor painting is a DTG t-shirt design. It thrives best on an off-white tee with no white ink underneath. Printing it this way makes for a shirt that looks like it was directly painted on! I intentionally painted in such a way to create crisp edges to the design. This creates the best print fille. Despite being a traditional watercolor painting, there are no remnants of the original background paper.
I would not recommend a design like this for traditional screen print. It has a lot of nuance and texture that would be hard to replicate.
