Draft for a logo, branding and visual communication for Yorokani — a company dedicated to accessible fashion for the elderly and impaired.
Brief: The company wanted me to work on their branding which was nonexistent at this point. The target audience are well heeled elderly people with good taste and a lot of joy in their life. The patented magnetic buttons make it very easy to open and close even tight buttons, which is why the company got a grant from the government to develop the technology and bring it to the market. This is one of the drafts I did for Yorokani, it was my favorite but not the winning bit, which I will show later. This version plays with the heraldic theme and very reduced color palette. The aim was to make it a tad old fashioned but not taking it too seriously, playing with a modern and whimsical typeface and edgy symbols to counter the more sober color and theme.
