Murder on the Orient Express

Agatha Christie's 'Murder on the Orient Express'
Student Project: Art & Design

The brief was to come up with a suite of different marketing materials to advertise a stage play version of Agatha Christie's 'Murder on the Orient Express'. The theme was to have a distinct 1930's flavour.

Project Development - initial sketches and concepts
These sketches came off the back of research into the 1930s and were inspired by the work from notable artists, graphic designers and art movements prevalent in that era.
Winning Concept - Silhouette, papercut style.
After debating which concept to take forwards, I decided to take my silhouette idea into the 3D realm with a series of papercut images, which I used to create various compositions for each piece of promotional material.
The Final Outcomes
Taking the designs onto the screen and into the final suite of marketing materials. From left to right:

1 x A4 theatre programme cover
1 x A3 poster
2 x A6 postcard (front)
1 x A6 postcard (reverse)

From start to finish this was a really fun student project to cut my designer teeth on!
