The goal of this project was to experiment with bridging the gap between my art style and something more 'traditional childrens illustrated book'. I started with a basic sketch before doing the line work. Then I block coloured the image so I could use layer masks to add texture and colour without fear of staying in lines which gave me freedom to be much more messy with my application of colour to give the whole thing a much more textured feel allowing for more depth to the image.
