Based on the book 'Society of Spectacle' by Guy Debord, The House of Spectacle is an Absurd Alternate Space play about 5 characters living in a house beyond the concept of time and space. The 5 characters are embodiments of the digital spectacle, namely Television, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram and Reality. Mundane is the embodiment of Reality. 

The play begins at a regular hour in the house when Mundane is found lying on the staircase; the characters soon realise that Mundane is dead. The loss of Reality leads to a massive gap in the information intake of the other 4 mega-egoistic characters who also have a very short attention span. They are not very equipped for such a situation and the chaos begins.

The play is set up in two rooms with Mundanes body lying in the middle of the rooms. Each room is running its story simultaneously. The audience is allowed to access the entire set and watch the play from any angle they please. They are also allowed to switch rooms. 

The lighting of the play is set up on the floor thereby casting huge shadows of the characters representing their God-like personalities. 

The Play also intends to play with the audiences understanding of information consumption. Upon one watching of the play you would only know half the story , you only get the story of the section you subscribe to. Just like the Spectacle, you never know the full story just the side you chose to listen to.
