Creative project ; Summer 2021 : « LE SUMMER MOOD »
At the beginning of the quarantine, I started creating a series of digital illustrations.
First starting with the color palette composed of acid saturated tones and neon gradients, I then developed flowers with abstract shapes and vases.
As the colors are very intense, I chose not to put too many details and stay with a very graphic, expressive but simple illustration.
As a reference, I followed visual psychedelic art characteristics and the « Lowbrow art » which is an underground visual art movement born in Los Angeles in the late 1960s.
At the beginning of 2020, I started to put together some references from pinterest, instagram, magazines etc while thinking about a new creative project. It is during the quarantine in March 2020 that I really had the time to proceed to the practical part.
This period has been a moment of contemplation, opportunities to create personal and artistic material at my own rhythm and without limits. This is probably the reason why this project didn’t have any commercial aspect or purpose at that time.
I am a textile and surface designer ; which means my prints can be applied to mixed medias and different surfaces ; for example to homeware and wallpaper designs, that I have been working on lately.
I presented this collection « Introduction to textile & surface design » (May 2021) for my Exhibition in Kulturhaus Niederanven, in Luxembourg, where I introduced these series of multidisciplinary prints that include paintings on canvas, digital prints on paper and textile.

« Tropico Neon »
Represents the tropical fever, the nostalgy of last year and the enthusiasm of immersing ourselves again into nature and travels.
In this print, the flowers are more detailed and delicate, in harmony with the warm gradient background that represents a calm and confident atmosphere.

I started illustrating these flowers digitally at the beginning of the quarantine, when we were locked up in a flat in Barcelona.
The flowers and expressive faces represent different emotions that we experienced during this period ; such as the uncertainty, nostalgia, loneliness, but also a certain introspection, creativity and empathy. All of this while being in a closed space, which is represented by the vases of different shapes and gradients of color. The blue gradient background transmits a cold and heavy atmosphere.
