36 Days of Type is a "yearly open call exploring the creative boundaries of letterforms, where participants are challenged to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days, as a global and simultaneous act showing the outcome of the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands different perspectives."
For the 2021 edition, I drew glyphs within the constraint of a 6 x 6 grid and brought them to life as 3d lego-esque sculptures. As an additional challenge, each letter sculpture is complete when 2 forms fit just right. This exercise was an exploration in developing unique color palettes on the daily just as much as it was about playing with letterforms.
I'm proud to share that this series was among the Six winners that were awarded a one-year Creative Cloud subscription by Adobe, the official partners of 36 days of type.
