There is a very picturesque turf-clad stave church sitting adjacent to the medieval farmhouse at Þjórsárdalur. And if you like history or photography it's really worth visiting. The church is a reconstruction, based on a foundation of a small church/chapel uncovered at Stöng in Þjórsárdalur valley in the 1980's.

I've been to this place many times before, always with a camera in hand and once a drone. It's quite different view you get from above.
