In May 2005, Canadian War Museum relocated to its current location in Lebreton Flats. The new building features numerous symbolic features, one of them being the Memorial Hall. It is a square room where the grave stone of an unnamed soldier is displayed. It is a place of silence and self-contemplation. It symbolizes memorial for not only those who served in WWI and WWII, but all the wars.
On the 11:00 AM of Memorial Day, November 11th, a beam of sunlight shines through a narrow slit, luminating the the gravestone. The new identity combines the overhead imagery of the Memorial Hall with the message for the future generations.
