Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis
Having been founded in 1833, MNSR was the first public museum being founded in Portugal. The museum it's installed on Palácio das Carrancas. The museum’s collection accounts for more than 13000 pieces, of which around 3000 correspond to drawing and painting. The rest are distributed in collections of sculpture, engraving, decorative arts (furniture, earthenware, porcelain, glass, jewellery, textiles) and archaeological collections. Nowadays, António Ponte is the art director of the museum and one of his goals is to internationalization of the institution of collections and annual exhibitions from reserves.
