Pots & Interior Plant Vector Illustration Set

Project Description:
Interior scaping is one of the fields I have been exploring recently. After taking a class, I realized how standard and sometimes out of style plants' pots look like. I wanted to redesign a new style for all of those plant buyers that either have a minimalistic or abstract style in their house.
The message I wanted to communicate is that plant pots don't have to be boring. It is possible to combine the shapes of the plants with the pots, and it is possible to incorporate abstract to the nature.

Sketch Process
Sketching was not very difficult because I already had an idea about what topic I wanted to convey. I knew I wanted to incorporate lines, back & white, and geometric shapes to the pots. I got inspired from the few 3D printed pots design I found online and started sketching. I also paid attention to the different pots shapes and how I could combine that to the shapes of the plants.

Iterations:
Variation 1: I was not sure how to combine the lines with the pots. I thought the best idea was to use lines to create the pot's shapes. Also, I was not sure if I wanted to have black & white pots or just go for the previous idea

Variation 2: I decided to go with the idea of use lines to create the pots shapes. I used circles, triangle, and heart to recreate the pot shapes. I also added some of the most common indoor plants. In this stage, I got some feedback about making the lines more interesting and reducing some details of some plants

Variation 3: I decided to go back to the previous idea about having the pots black and white because i thought that could help the lines to stand out and look more interesting. I played with combining the lines with the black instead of just having the lines for the shapes. In this state, I got feedback about making sure the line on top was aligned to the pots, closing the gaps in between lines, avoid having some other colors besides the black & white.

Variation 4: I closed all the gaps in between the lines and the shapes. I also unified all the strokes sizes and the line on top of the pots, I got rid of extra colors, and improved some of the plant's designs.
Final Design:
My final design presents an organized and unified view of the pots. The indoor plants look simple, modern, and minimalistic. On the other hand, the posts repeat the same pattern of the lines, colors, and stroke; giving them an abstract look. The subtle combination of the plants and pots shapes make the design look clean and easy to follow.
