History of Jalan Sultan :
Petaling Street which is a heritage area and precious property shared by everyone in the Klang Valley.
Interesting architecture of the two-storey shophouses which have 83 years of history.Market is for the poor , mostly Indonesian & Chinese nationals.
MRT project would begin on the tunnel stretching 51km from Sungai Buloh to Kajang
Some of the old building and shops may get destroy.
Government promised that owners of heritage buildings damaged during the construction of the My Rapid Transit (MRT) will be full compensation.
Proposal for some owners who move out of their land – Government will pay all of the income for landowners properties for 6 months.
2 out of the total 23 Jalan Sultan landowners have not accepted the proposal.

Idea came from the one of the event ‘Light a Lantern ,Save Jalan Sultan ’ which organised by the Petaling Street Community Art Project.
Paper art is the heritage symbols and it easy to be broked without protection, same as the Jalan Sultan.
MRT is necessary
but Jalan Sultan's historical value must remain !
