TRANSPORTATIONS in Philippines
I’ve witnessed islands in my home country turned into cities. What strikes me most is the increasing traffic and endless road and bridge construction in order to satisfy the needs of transport and countless cars coming into one place. HOW DID WE GET HERE? Riding a ‘jeepney’ and ‘tri-sikad’ used be such a leisure and you’ll only ever experience such pleasure with them now on rural areas. Fishermen did not need bigger 'bangka' until they had to feed more than their family...
When I think of a sustainable future, I revert to urbanism and the necessary infrastructures needed to comply with both economic gain and increased livelihood for the community. The other thing about sustainability is to remind ourselves often that WE DO NOT NEED MORE than what we already have.

Here is a collection of old sketches— a nostalgia of the transportations in my childhood around the island of Cebu and Leyte, Philippines
Jeepney. basic public transportation in the Philippines
Kalesa. traditional city transport during the spanish colonization
Tri-sikad. bicycle provincial transport
Tura-Tura. normally used for transporting livestock
Tricycle. Public provincial transportation

Kabayo. traditonal farmer transportation
Truck. transporting heavy equipments & other logistics
