In the midst of a worldwide “loneliness” pandemic, both in terms of its pervasiveness and severity, our aspiration to live independently and freely contributes to the city's existing isolation characteristic. Homes are built around common spaces, where individuals know and care after each other, and the communal space located in the neighborhood environment is one of the main areas where people prefer to have interaction. Hence, UNIT-E is designed to tackle the issue of human-human and human-nature disconnection in HDB environment by focusing on the idea to create a sense of community, experience of nature, and enhancing wellbeing.
