Materials, Processes, and Ideas
Materials - I used mainly illustrator for making the shapes and then i used photoshop
Processes - The process of creating this work was taking reference from an album cover from Tame Impala. And also looking for a modern typeface.
Ideas - This is my third instalment in my works that focus on different styles and this one is a modern/ psychedelic style. You can see the element of psychedelic with the main graphic being a swirled lines that give a feeling like someone that has taken a psychedelic drug. The modern elements are how the text and main element is styled with the borders.
Practice, Experimentation, and Revision
Practice - I had to practice with the creation of the lines and how far to place them away from each other. I also did a very rough test to see if the liquify tool would achieve the effect that I wanted.
Experimentation - The biggest thing i had to experiment with would be how much to use the liquify tool in photoshop it was very hard to get something that look not too distorted and started at a definite point.
Revision - The only things that i revised were how the filters over the whole design looked. I had to make different masks to make the effect only be applied in certain areas.
