Baroque Performance Center

This project is from my second year studio with Stephen Wischer at NDSU. We were tasked with creating a performance center that would be a place for  Baroque music to be played. There were two influences for our architecture: music and an artefact. The inspirational music for my center was "Violin Sonata in G Minor" by Bach. My artefact aimed to capture the same feeling and movement that Bach's violin piece would create as you listened to it. It might be hard to see, but the large middle beam would pushed causing the side beams to follow in a similiar fashion, but look and work much like a ripple in water. This sort of back and forth motion would encourage those looking at it to sway with it, just like music can sometimes move those who listen to it.
