LOLA WAS BORNE FROM NECESSITY.

I first designed and created Lola for ikoo's Thermal Treatment Wraps, which were launched during the Korean face mask hype. We needed an illustration that conveyed to the user that this product is for hair and not for the face. From there she evolved from the packaging to POS and to a fully functioning character, one that became the mascot for the brand. She is mainly portrayed on social media and used for holiday campaigns, events, product launches, and initiatives.

She is illustrated with her eyes closed and covered with thick, heavy lashes. This is to keep the focus on the hair rather than any expression on the face. In this way, her face can also be iconized.
