The United Nations World Tourism Organization recently released a report that ranked France, Spain, and the United States as the most visited countries in the world. In 2019, France received 89.4 million visitors who generated $62 billion in tourism revenue for the country. Top attractions visited by tourists in France include the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Palace of Versailles, and Mont Saint-Michel.

Spain and the US received 82.7 million and 79.6 million visitors, respectively, in 2019. Other countries that made it to the list were China, Italy, Turkey, Mexico, Germany, Thailand, and the United Kingdom, which received 36.3 million visitors. The United Nations World Tourism Organization notes in its report that tourism numbers went down in 2020 but are expected to increase as countries open up once COVID-19 is effectively under control.
