Dunya Ki Duniya

Dunzo's comic series featuring our brand mascots from Duniverse.
These comics portray our delivery partners' lives providing a front seat view into their everyday thoughts and observations - from the cute 'just Indian things' to their views on the trending events occupying the minds of the public. The comics also serve as
a medium to explore the paradigm of how the Indian society communicates at large - to understand the pain points and little victories that make their daily routines. Speaking the colloquial language dipped in Indian-ness helps our audience to form an emotional connection with the brand and forms a great foundation for brand recall.
Character Design

Our initial design was inspired by the vector illustration we had. It was adapted to comic style by the use of thick juicy strokes giving it the feel of ink on paper. We updated the design once the mascots were created in 3D to resemble that style. An interesting fact is our mascots are never seen without their helmet.
Topical Comics

This series focuses on moment marketing to capitalise on the trending news. The situations vary from new pop-culture shows, vaccine slots, US presidential elections, etc.
City-Specific Comics

This series is based on relatable, city-specific insights with a touch of colloquial lingo. From illustrations of prominent monuments and iconic transport vehicles to the frustration of traffic jams & potholes, these vernacular comics delved into nostalgia.
Process

We start with ideation and finalize the topic and situation. This is followed by a rough sketch to understand the poses and layout. Next, we move to line art where we give the comics its characteristic strokes. Finally, we apply flat colors and add shadows and highlights.
In The End

Seeing such vintage-styled comics from a brand on social media has made a lot of people to pause their doom scrolling, bringing a smile on their faces. This attempt has also been appreciated by other creative agencies and social media aggregators. Trying out new vehicles of creativity - in the end, it does matter!
