Physical Icons
I used macrame yarn to re-create the icon for build. Each section of the icon is an individual piece of macrame, so the ends fray. I think the fraying of the ends adds something interesting to the icon and without it, I feel like the icon would not communicate the same message.
Magazine squares and sharpie were used to construct the icon hide. The blue rectangle and the purple rectangle hide amongst one another. I think the text on some of the magazine squares adds a unique look to this icon.

For the expand icon I painted with coffee. I also used sharpie to outline and I used hairspray to add a splattered look. The texture of the coffee grounds and the use of hairspray give the icon a neat effect. This effect almost makes it look like it is expanding in a way.

I used kid’s watercolor and sharpie to make the icon for plunge. I was able to get this cool gradient affect with the watercolor and the use of sharpie helps the watercolor pop.

I decided to use small magazine clippings to re-create the icon for look. The contrasting colors in this icon is really satisfying.
