Man, the Devil's River sure is hard to get to, but it is worth it! After about a 2 hour drive from Del Rio (1/2 paved & 1/2 dirt road) and a mile hike with all your gear up/down a dirt road, you can begin to experience this wild ecosystem! Just like the Pecos River, once you launch, you really do feel like you are traveling back in time. With just a short kayak om the State Natural Area (permit required) you can find yourself in some of the most beautiful spots in Texas/The United States/The World. However, as you enjoy your time out there, remember the adventure that it will take to get back home! Even still, the Devil's River was an absolutely amazing day, with amazing people, and on a truly amazing river!
