As summer approaches, many campers are eager to spend time in the outdoors. According to USA Today, here are some of the best campgrounds to try just outside of Milwaukee.

Jellystone Park Camping Resort: Located in Caledonia, 19 miles from Milwaukee, this resort offers plenty for the active camper with a sand volleyball pit, sports facilities, two playgrounds, and a water playground as well as an air jumping pillow and mini golf. The park also includes a general store for last-minute items and a snack shop and ice cream parlor for treats.

Country View Campground. Found in Mukwonago, 30 minutes from Milwaukee, this is a smaller campground with an open area for tents. Kids will enjoy the petting zoo and weekend hayrides while adults can also appreciate the heated swimming pool and game room. The facility also includes hot showers and laundry.

Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground. In West Bend, 35 miles from Milwaukee, this is one of the closest campgrounds to boast a private lake. Campers can rent water equipment, from kayaks and canoes to paddleboats and tubes.
