Artist Statement
My practice is rooted in the exploration of intangible thing within the physical space which transform regularly with time. The visual I create are combination of surreal observations within this logical world we live in. Being a part of a densely occupied city for years, took my attention towards drastically changing sounds and spaces.
I capture these unseen sounds in the form of “Sound Mapping” and this is one of my engagement began while traveling in local buses and in metro. What excites me about sound is its mutable nature with respect to time and space, nonspecificity, and ambiguity open gates for me to include it in my practice as a living element. Sonic textures which have power to trigger different emotions and moods with which I am trying to build a sense of liveness in the forms which I visualize while listening to various sounds.
In my recent practice, complexity, distorting space, and sound are uniformly coinciding. Transformation of plane surfaces by giving them perspective, and layering constructs intricacy and complexities which is absent in a plane surface. The representation looks like the chaos of geometrical shapes which are quite evident in this rapidly developing world. These complexities and chaos add a variety of sensitivities to the visual forms of sound. The use of different shapes and multiple layers suggests space transformation and assorted sounds which further helps me to create different sound textures.
In this digitalizing scenario, variety of media like, recording sounds, and digital collage supports my understanding and helps me to develop a better understanding between human sensibility and technical sensibility through my practice.
My creation process involves the unreal sights within this logical world. At times the juxtaposition of multiple forms triggers various senses which create a timeless feeling.
