These book covers were for a competition to design 3 Dylan Thomas book covers in celebration of Dylan Thomas' 100th birthday. I wanted the covers to be contemporary and also appeal to existing fans of Thomas.
To create a reward factor for the existing fans I started looking into elements of Dylan Thomas’ life. I discovered that pub culture was a big part of his life, so I designed a number of emblems that resembled beer labels to go on each cover.
The designs were highly commended in the Orion cover design competition.
