A Journey of a lifetime - wedding design

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue

I was approached by a very happy Mr and Mrs to-be, who asked me to come up with an image for their special day. They explained to me that they wanted it to be as special as it could be, and that they wanted it to stand out from all the other weddings during the summer months. A strong image to represent them both as a unit, without being cheesy. Something that people would remember.

The chosen concept was travel, something that they both love and that made their love stronger.

So join me on this journey that brings design and love together.

An identity to represent their unity as a couple. I wanted to combine something old, with something new.
Something elegant, yet modern.
The invitation was designed to look like a passport and contained all the important information the guests needed to attend the ceremony. A detachable RSPV Boarding Pass was included in the middle of the invatation for people to return to the hosts with their information.
Keeping with the theme, the hosts decided their table names would be of all the European cities they had visited as a couple. I wanted to illustrate the monuments that belonged to each city and translate the text to  each native language.

For the guests to know which table they were seated at, a A1 size board was placed at the entrance with their 'travel destination' route.
The bride and groom decided against having the traditional guest book, and agreed to go ahead with a post card idea, which the guests would then be place it in a mini post box after writing their message. This way the guests were forced to write something original, instead of looking through the book for 'inspiration'
