Sunbutter + Humanaut

Humanaut reached out to us for a cute and sunny animation.The task was to create a solar factory that soaks up the awesome power of the sun and falls into a conveyor belt of sunflower seeds. 🌻 How cool is that? 💛 This animation would be part of a bigger campaign: Spread some Sun

WIDESHOT LOOP:

THE CHARACTERS:

These are the two main characters. The eyes were big to make sure we would recognize them in such a big environment. The seed would later be covered up by its shell 😊

EARLY TEST:

Here are some early tube tests. It helped me brainstorm and get a grasp of what I was going to create.

STYLE FRAMES:

During the initial explorations, the scene had more elements. We also explored colors that would be closer to a tannish/brown sunbutter color.

FACTORY MECHANISM:

Because the animation would loop, it was crucial to have an idea of the whole Sun factory process. How does this factory work?

COLOR:

We continued exploring colors from the corporate color palette and finally went for a sunnier and cleaner visual approach.

CLOSE UP LOOP:

Here is a close up of the work scene. Each sun has its own personality and assignment. The seeds are first surprised by the ball of light and then feel comfort and happiness. (please wait for the GIF animation)
