By measuring the body we are able to create custom fits and individualised adornment. With these rings the idea was to create items that are personal to me and my body. By first taking casts of my finger to get a 1:1 replicate I was then able to scan the slices into the computer and design the perfect fitting ring. Each ring is modelled in the computer and then sent to be 3d printed in sterling silver. The incorporation of 3d printing technology into jewelery or any aspect of customisable fit allows the manufacturer a new field of exploration without the cost of setting up individual moulds and tools. This freedom also extends to the wearer as they are now able to experience a new level of comfort that is correct for their exact body type, something that usually is reserved for elite athletes at tremendous pricing.
