Handbook of Contemporary Youth Life

The inspiration for this project originates from the working and living conditions of contemporary young people in China. Since the moment they entered society, young people have started their efforts to survive in the metropolis. Work, consumption and reinvestment have formed a circular mechanized operation chain. The work presents the living conditions of young people from the eight aspects including jobs, interests, parenting, education, consumption, medical care, elderly care and making friends. During the research, I consulted a few friends working in Shanghai, China, and used their life experiences as samples in my creation. The work symbolizes the characters and scenes in a one-to-one correspondence, and presents the modularized and stylized life of contemporary young people in the form of atlas, while making reflections over it.
