Folking Underground Sound
Description: This poster was for a Folk Music-type concert, in the central building at Plymouth State University.  This was the first project I did when I joined PACE halfway through my sophomore year.  PACE was in need of a graphic designer to promote their events so I offered to lend a helping hand.  I became their official graphic designer immediately following this poster.
Sunday River Ski Trip
March 30, 2013
Description: This poster, being a bit bigger, 11x14", had to project the necessary information to students to allow them to sign up for a ski trip to a ski resort in Maine, Sunday River.  PACE tries to do at least one big trip a semester, we chose this as our trip.  It ended up being a very successful trip, and packed a bus full of people and their ski/snowboard equiptment.  This poster won "Best Poster" at the 2013 NACA Northeast conference held in Hartford, Connecticut October 31- November 4.  NACA stands for National Association for Campus Activities, bringing together schools from all over the Northeast.  There are different NACA conferences all over the country.
Comedy Week
April 1-7, 2013
Description: A week full of all different kinds of events, including a comedy-themed open mic, a stand up comedian, a movie, and a concert.  This poster had to be very specific, and had to be edited a couple of different times as the information kept changing.  This poster's deadline was also very specific, we wanted to promote it before people went home at the end of March for Spring Break.  We had this 11x17" poster up around campus for at least 3.5 weeks.
Annual Eating Contest
April 20, 2013
Description: Another 11x17" that had to project necessary information in order for PACE to bring in enough competitors.  We also incuded brief info about a movie on the campus green.  This is also the first poster I started playing with the Twitter and Instagram links, as someone requested they be on there.  They kept developing overtime till I reached a format I liked.
Summer Daze
Description: An 11x17" poster, informing students about the assortment of activities that were happening on the campus green that day.  I wanted to focus the poster on grabbing people's attention, and I think the array of colors did the trick.  Overall the event did really well, and drew a lot of people to come.
Falling Into Plymouth
September 7, 2013
Description: An event very similar to the Spring event, "Summer Daze."  This event was to welcome students to the campus, and allow for them to meet and hang out with each other through fun activities such as volley ball and kanjam.  This event was also very successful, and drew a lot of new faces in as well as familiar ones.
Comedian Streeter Seidell
September 13, 2013
A PACE event co-sponsored by PAW (Plymouth Alternative Weekends).  PACE tries to bring in at least one or two comedians every year.  These events are usually very successful, this one in particular filled up the room's capacity.  As a designer, I felt that the bricks were a big aspect in creating this poster.  When I think about stand-up comedians, I think of a person, standing in front of a spot light, in front of a brick wall.  I have this thought probably from watching a lot of Seinfeld and going to a comedy club or two.  When PACE brings performers in, they usually include a headshot, or a picture of their band to use on the flyer.  This is the picture that Streeter sent us.
Homecoming Shirt Design
This ended up being the logo for the 2013 Plymouth State University Homecoming week.  I kept it pretty simple so it would not only appeal to students but also to families and alumni coming to Plymouth for the weekend.  I based this logo on type rather than imagery so it would be clean and clear.  These shirts were generally printed for PACE members.  They were printed in dark green, as well as orange.  They were printed in orange for PACE members to wear at events throughout the week, to make it apparent to people that they were the staff at the events.
Mayday Parade
October 4, 2013
This event was PACE's homecoming concert, with a budget of around $17,000.  Mayday Parade is a very well-known band on this campus, as well as all across the US.  They are constantly touring college campuses, because that is generally the crowd that they appeal to.  We also got two local (student) artists to open for Mayday Parade.  The image at the top of the poster was the one that the band had requested we used for them.
Space Jam
October 10, 2013
This event was the first "Throwback Thursday" of many to come.  Throwback Thursday is intended to show a film that our generation grew up to know and love.  PACE plans on doing Throwback Thursday at least once a month.
Open Mic Night
October 21, 2013
Open Mic Night is a gathering of some of PSU's most talented singers, guitar & piano players, comedians, poets, etc.  Students love to watch their friends perform for 10 minute slots.  PACE allows up to 12 people to perform.  Open Mic Night is usually a very successful event, something that PACE likes to take a lot of pride in.  We try to do this event monthly.
The Menzingers
October 25, 2013
The Menzingers are another very well known band.  This event also reached the room's capacity.  The photo that the band sent along with their contract was very colorful and playful.  I decided to play off of that using different tones and filters in the photo.  This flyer won "Best Flyer" at the 2013 NACA Northeast conference held in Hartford, Connecticut October 31-November 3.
OSG Paintball
October 26, 2013
This trip was PACE's "Great Escape" for the semester.  With a decent budget, 40 students were provided with free transportation, and a free day of paintball to one of the greatest paintball complexes in the area.  This event turned out to be very successful.
