The final project in Entertainment Marketing at Emerson was to evaluate the local radio station WERS' repositioning. My team's research and brainstorming led us to come up with the tagline "Expanding Boston's Playlist."
To help shift the focus from theiir current tagline "Music for the Independent Mind" to "Expanding Boston's Playlist," I updated the WERS logo to appear modern and stand out in the clutter of other marketing campaigns in the Boston area. I chose to use Emerson College's colors to strengthen the association. The color palette has been brightened up and gained slate grey as a supporting neutral. A custom logo that is soft and slightly angular uses Century Gothic as the foundation. The brandmark is designed to produce a quick association to music devices' "play" symbol. It is broken up into three color segments to appear more kinetic and draw focus to the radio station number.
