Typography Lessons From The Horror Genre Editorial

Introduction
With this project we were asked to find a thousand word article on a topic we were interested in surrounding the topic of typography & create an editorial magazine for it. We also got a chance to experiment with type & alternative media that's related to the topic of our article to incorporate into our editorial.

As someone who is a fan of horror movies, I thought it would be interesting to find an article related to how horror titles & the typography created have been used to help enhance it as well as explore how it carries the theme of the genre.

The article Typography Lessons From The Horror Genre written by Jamahl Johnson was the perfect & most well described depiction of how typography has played such a massive role within the genre. It's an interesting read I promise!
The Experimental Type
Due to my article being about the genre of horror, I geared more towards the look of blood. I achieved this by taking wooden letters, covering them in red ink then stamping them onto the page to create a typeface. After my experimentation, I ended up swapping the colours around to make not only the front cover of the editorial but to also recreate quotes within the editorial
