ACCUFEED FOR DOGS
One of the biggest problems faced by pet owners these days is feeding medicines to their dogs. Dogs are very strong and refuse to eat medicine. With no thumb rule to feed medicine, the dog owners have to devise their own methods to perform this difficult task. Some crush the medicine, mix it water, put in syringe, and feed the dog. However, using syringe is not always easy as while trying to open the dog’s mouth, there are chances that the dog would bite your hand. Some would hide medicine in sweets, which are high in sugar and hence harmful for the dogs. Some would hide the medicine in food, which would then go waste as dog can easily sense it. When unable to treat the dog properly, the dog owners are forced to take the dog to a veterinarian doctor for an injection or drip.

Having shortlisted the problems faced by dog owners, I created a new product. I redesigned the existing medicine dispenser for dogs (which is nothing but a normal syringe without the needle) by introducing a cap in the design and changing the handle and the tip of syringe. The tip of this redesigned medical dispenser is longer, making it easy for people to feed medicine from the sides of a dog’s mouth. It can also suck medicines in liquid state straight from the bottle. It is made up of soft rubber material, so it does not hurt the dog in any way and is easy to clean. The handle is designed in such a way that when pet owners are struggling to open their pet’s mouth, they can hold on to the syringe due to its strong grip.

There are two ways in which this medicine dispenser can be used.
Option 1 :
With CapThe pet owners can either open the mouth of the dog and push the syringe along with its cap into the mouth
Option 2 :
Without Cap - If the pet owners are unable to get the dog open its mouth, then they can remove the cap of the syringe and push its tip from the side of the dog’s mouth. This method is relatively easier as the cheeks of a dog are stretchy and can be slightly pulled to push the tip of the syringe into its mouth.
, or if they are unable to get the dog open its mouth, then they can remove the cap of the syringe and push its tip from the side of the dog’s mouth.
