Project Overview
In this project, I was asked to create a user experience and user interface for a fictitious app or website. I decided to create a recipe app designed for users to mostly use on their iPads. The user is able to access the app on their phone so they can check off the items on their shopping lists. I began the project by performing research with multiple recipe websites and apps to find out more about the market. I conducted interviews with people to see what is important to them in this type of app. After conducting a hybrid card sorting session with potential users, The pain points discovered during my research were ads and images that break up the flow of the recipe, lack of layout consistency among the recipes, and distracting pop-ups that block the users view of the recipe when they are in the middle of preparing the food. I created a wireframe and style guide. Now with the research completed and a plan for the design, I began to build the design in a prototype using XD.
