Can we turn everyday meals that we repeat at home into a different experience? Stoke is a cooking home appliance that makes your meal time enjoyable at home without having to go out.

일상적으로 집 안에서 반복하는 식사를 색다른 경험으로 바꿀 수 있을까요? Stoke는 밖에 나가지 않고도 집에서의 식사 시간을

즐겁게 만들어주는 조리 가전입니다.

Background

Eat more often at home with increased average indoor stay time.

As the time at home increased rapidly, so did the frequency of home meal resolution. For families with children at home, delivering food can't be a complete solution. This leads to the burden of preparing meals and the pain of boring meals every day. After the break out of COVID-19, There has been a new word "dolbap dolbap" - rice when you turn around, rice when you turn around among Korean millennial moms. This allows us to guess their problem.

COVID-19로 인해 집에 있는 시간이 증가하면서 자연스럽게 집에서 식사하는 빈도도 함께 증가했습니다. 아이가 있는 가족은 배달음식이 완전한 해결책이 될 수 없기에 식사 준비의 부담과 매일 지루한 식사를 반복한다는 고충을 지니고 있습니다. 우리는 한국 밀레니얼 엄마들 사이에서 생겨난 ‘돌밥돌밥’ -돌아서면 밥하고 돌아서면 밥하고- 이라는 신조어에서 이를 확인할 수 있습니다.

Problem

Repeatedly go through the same eating routine at home over and over.

Interviewed members of Millennial moms who are in charge of preparing meals in the family. What does their mealtime look like? when the time to eat, mom goes to the kitchen alone and cooks. when the meal is ready, the family comes out, eats quickly, and then disperses back to their rooms. Repeatedly go through the same eating routine over and over.

아이가 있는 밀레니얼 가족 중 식사 준비를 전담하는 구성원들을 인터뷰하며 행동 방식을 관찰했습니다. 이들의 식사 시간은 어떤 모습일까요? 밥 먹을 시간이 되면 엄마는 혼자 주방에 가서 있는 음식을 꺼내 요리합니다. 식사 준비를 마치면 가족들이 나와서

재빨리 먹고 다시 각자의 방으로 흩어집니다. 일상적이고 지루한 식사를 매일 반복합니다.

Opportunity

People enjoy the refreshing moment in various space at home.

We found a trend after the break out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Interestingly, people started to decorate balconies and living room in a camping mood, and enjoy dining. We attend to the fact that people who felt bored and frustrated are looking for refresh moment in new space of their home, so we are planned to design, Stoke, a new cooking appliance.

COVID-19 이후로 생긴 흥미로운 트렌드를 발견했습니다. 지루함과 답답함을 느낀 사람들이 부엌을 벗어나서 베란다와 거실에 캠핑 분위기를 만들고 식사를 즐기고 있었습니다. 우리는 사람들이 집 안에서 색다른 경험을 찾고 있음에 주목하여 새로운 조리 가전 Stoke를 구상했습니다.

Solution

Carries the concept of outdoor cooking experience.

When do we cook for a refresh? The solution is in the outdoor cooking experience. When we cook outside, we must keep the wood sufficient enough and stir up it to control the fire. Such manner, quite different from the user's routine of dining, gives us a freshness and amusement. Stoke is inspired by this. It is an indoor cooking equipment which utilizes an analogue interaction to carries the concept of outdoor cooking experience.
요리가 리프레시 행위로 이용될 때는 언제일까요? 야외에 놀러 나가서 요리할 때입니다. 야외에서 요리할 때는 수시로 땔감을

넣고 고르게 섞어주며 불의 세기를 조절합니다. 이러한 행위는 일상과 달리 낯설고 즐거운 느낌을 줍니다. Stoke는 여기서 영감을 얻었습니다. 실내에서 사용하는 조리 가전이지만 아날로그적인 인터랙션을 통해 야외에서 조리하는 경험과 같은 색다름을 제공합니다.

Motive

Stoke and the three accessories are taking the elements from the meat grills, coals that sustain the fire, and the iron sticks for controlling the fire.
Stoke와 액세서리 제품들은 각각 고기를 굽는 그리들, 옥수수 및 고구마, 감자 같은 보조 재료를 구울 수 있는 고열의 공간, 불의 세기를 조절하는 석탄, 디테일하게 컨트롤하는 나뭇가지에서 영감을 받았습니다.

Step 1

Prepare the dining

First, before start cooking, put the ingredient such as corn and potato that require a long time for baking.

본격적인 조리를 시작하기 전에 긴 조리 시간이 필요한 옥수수나 감자와 같은 재료를 오븐에 넣습니다.

Step 2

Insert your coal.

Stoke chose a different type of interaction in order to present a brand new entertaining cooking process for the user. Different from the standard dial stove method,it used charcoal modules as the tool for power control. Do you want to heat up? Insert desired amount of coal depending on how strong you want the temperature to be. As soon as the coals touch the electron conduction plate, the temperature starts to rise.

Stoke는 과정 자체로 즐거운 조리 경험을 전달하기 위해 새로운 방식의 인터랙션을 이용합니다. 다이얼을 이용하여 열을 올리고 조절하는 일상적인 조리 가전과 달리 숯 모듈을 열 조절의 도구로 이용합니다. 열을 올려볼까요? 원하는 열 세기만큼 숯 모듈을 기기 안으로 넣어보세요. 내부에 깔린 판에 숯 모듈이 맞닿으면 열이 올라갑니다.

Step 3

Main dish.

The product consists of upper grill and the lower oven, so you can cook on both places at the same time. Start the main dish by grilling meat on the grill, while the food is being cooked in the oven.

Stoke는 상단 그릴과 하단 오븐, 총 2파트로 나눠져 있어서 동시에 조리가 가능합니다. 오븐에서 음식이 조리되는 동안 그릴에서 고기를 구워 메인 식사를 시작해보세요.

Step 4

Stir up using your poker.

By using poker to mix the coal modules, you can alter the grill and the oven's temperature. If you want to raise the temperature of the grill, send more modules to the right and vice versa for the oven.

그릴과 오븐의 열 세기를 조절하고 싶다면 Poker을 이용하여 숯 모듈을 고르게 섞어보세요. 모듈이 내부에서 이동하는 영역에

따라 열이 조절됩니다. 그릴의 세기를 더 키우고 싶다면 왼쪽으로 더 많은 모듈을 보내고 오븐의 세기를 키우고 싶다면 오른쪽으로 보내보세요.

Step 5

Enjoy your dining.

After finishing the main dish, enjoy your sub dish right after. You can enjoy endless chat with meal partner.

메인 디쉬를 마쳤다면 하단 오븐에서 서브 요리를 꺼내 즐기세요. 끊김 없는 다이닝 흐름과 함께 분위기와 대화를

유지할 수 있습니다.

(un)usual Experience

To maximize the (non-daily) experience of the product in branding, we conducted an illustration to apply to video and tributary applications. Three representative places where people go camping or out to enjoy a special experience are illustrated. We used the mountain, sea, and valley as the visual elements.

제품의 (비)일상적인 경험을 브랜딩에서 극대화 하기 위해 영상 및 지류 어플리케이션에 적용할 일러스트를 진행하였습니다. 사람들이 특별한 경험을 즐기기 위해 캠핑이나 나들이를 가는 산과 바다, 그리고 계곡의 모습을 일러스트로 그려 브랜드의 요소로 활용하였습니다.
