The permanent exhibition of the DDR Museum introduces its visitors to the history of life in the socialist DDR. Visitors are invited to extend their knowledge through direct engagement with historical sources, objects and images. The DDR Museum provides a unique visitor experience, making it one of Berlin’s most popular museum.

The exhibition is divided into three themed areas: "Public Life", "State and Ideology" and "Life in a Tower Block".
