In the Pause Between the Ringing.
In the Pause between the Ringing, is a short hypertext adapted from an unpublished story written by the fabled and fictions Gujarati author, MirUmar Hassan. Part radio drama, part interactive fiction and part exploration game - it is a chronicle of the turbulent history of Bakelite pits and Telephone-mining in British India; and a rumination about territories and completion, and about the haunting of bodies and memories that are translated across borders.
In t he Pause Between the Ringing was created as a Commission for the Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt exhibition at V&A, London, and with support from Victoria & Albert Museum London, and the India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore.
