Maranello, 1939. Province of Modena.

Il Commendatore, Il Drake, L'Ingegnere and Il Grande Vecchio are few of the names used for The man that at the end of the 30s conceived the planet's premier high-performance brand. Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena and lived there his whole life, nurturing and consolidating his creation.
Yellow and Blue are Modena’s two characteristic colours and gave origin to the legendary prancing horse logo.

As legend has it, the prancing horse in the Ferrari logo was used by World War I Italian fighter pilot Francesco Baracca on the side of his plane. It was his Mum, the Countess, who would go on to tell Ferrari to add the logo to his cars, insisting the logo would bring good luck.
The horse was, and still is, black, on the canary yellow background.

Whether you consider him to have been utterly ruthless or merely obsessively focused, Enzo Ferrari left an automotive legacy like no other.
And here is an example of the passion and attachment people still feel.
