Frogs and Geckos and Fish, Oh My!

Frogs and Geckos and Fish, Oh My!
I have a pet gecko, and I have always wanted a sticker of him to put on my water bottle. I have search, and I have never found one that I like. I decided to try and make some stickers that look like him, and other more obscure house-pets that do not have much sticker representation.
Step 1: Sketching
I originally went through a bunch of different sketch concepts. I worked hard to try and find an idea that I wanted to stick with. I finally discovered the ideas that I wanted to stick with and I made more in-depth sketches of them. I practiced color, design, and zooming up on the more difficult pieces. I really had a rough time figuring out the feet, so I practiced them a bunch.
Step 2: Drafting
As soon as I went into Illustrator to design, I realized that I had not sketched enough, so I went back to finish up my sketches. I then went back and began drafting. I knew the shapes I wanted to use, so I put all of them in. I still did not like what it looked like. I then changed their positioning, and I began to like it.
Step 3: Final
I finally had pieces that I was happy with. Through a bunch of work, I was able to figure out how to depict  these creatures in such a fun way.
Step 4: Sticker Mock-up
I then made my designs into stickers. They can be found at https://abigailwillis.threadless.com/
