Data Visualisation
The deforestation of our planet's forests has become one of the greatest environmental problems of our time. With my visualisation, I want to draw attention to the fact that large- scale deforestation also happens locally, in Romania, home to two-thirds of Europe’s forests.
I used graphic design to not only show the horrifying data on illegal deforestation, but also to show that one of the biggest obstacles preventing a halt to the logging is missing data. With the sources clearly shown on the visualisation, I want to encourage the viewers to inform themselves more closely and broadcast the problem.
Finally, I printed the data visualisation on organic eco- cotton to avoid harming further trees. The panel is weather resistant and can be re- used or re- purposed, thus being environmentally friendly. The visualisation itself can be hung, folded or placed according to the given circumstances.
